October 3, 2024: The coevolution of fungus-ant agriculture

The impact of an asteroid at the end of the Cretaceous (66 million years ago) not only temporarily interrupted photosynthesis but also led to the birth of fungus-growing ants agriculture, one of the most studied systems of symbiosis of recent years. This wonderful study led by Ted Schultz was published on October 3, 2024, and I had the fortune and honor to be part of it
